  • Game preferences and settings

  • In-game submissions (words, answers, game choices)

b. Automatically Collected Information

  • Device information (device type, OS version)

  • App usage data (features used, session duration, game statistics)

  • Error logs to improve app performance

c. Payment Information Payments are processed securely via the App Store. We do not store or process your card information directly.


2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

  • Process your game inputs using AI to generate puzzles, validate words, and enhance gameplay

  • Save your progress and game statistics

  • Personalise your gaming experience

  • Improve app features and performance

  • Provide customer support

We do not sell or rent your personal data.


3. AI Processing

What Our AI Does:

  • Processes game data to generate word puzzles and challenges

  • Validates word submissions

  • Adapts difficulty based on your gameplay

How Data Is Processed:

  • On your device: Initial game logic and validation

  • Our secure servers: Coordination and storage

  • AI partners: Process game data to enhance gameplay features

AI Training:

  • Your data is used to improve your personalised experience only

  • Your data is NOT used to train general-purpose AI models

  • We will never use your data to train commercial AI systems without explicit consent


4. Third-Party Services

We use the following services to support app functionality:

  • OpenAI: Processes game data for AI-powered features (text-based only)

  • Supabase: Secure cloud storage for your data

  • Apple App Store: Processes payments securely

Each service has its own privacy policy.

We do NOT use:

  • Advertising networks or tracking

  • Marketing analytics tools

  • Social media pixels

  • Data brokers


5. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed outside the UK (e.g., in the United States by our AI partners) with appropriate safeguards and in compliance with UK GDPR requirements.


6. Data Storage & Security

  • Your personal data is stored using industry-standard encryption

  • All data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption

  • We implement strict access controls and regular security audits

  • While we take extensive measures to secure your information, no system can be 100% secure

  • Correct your data by updating your profile

  • Request a copy of all your personal data

Under UK GDPR, you also have rights to:

8. Data Retention & Deletion

How Long We Keep Your Data:

  • Profile data: Until you delete your account

  • Game progress and statistics: Until account deletion

  • Technical logs: Automatically deleted after 90 days

Deleting Your Data:

  • Request complete account deletion via email

  • We'll delete all your data within 30 days of request

  • Some data may be retained only for legal compliance


9. Children's Privacy

WordRot is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13 years of age. Users aged 13 to 17 should have parental consent before using the app.


10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our app evolves. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you in the app or by email. Your continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
